Why are the Brooklyn Nets struggling this season?
The Brooklyn Nets have been struggling all year after being favorites to win the NBA 21-22 season. With big names like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, they hold a 29-22 record. The team stands in 6th in the East and are looking closer to enter the Play-In tournament.
But, why have the Nets struggled despite a stellar line up?
Coach Steve Nash has barely been able to play the ‘trio’ together since James Harden signed for the Nets. The trio have made only 16 appearances together since January 201. Durant, who was averaging 29.1 PPG, was carrying the Nets to most victories. An MCL sprain ended his hopes of winning the MVP award this year. Irving, meanwhile, was missing for the entire season due to COVID-19 rules. The star refused to get vaccinated, but was eligible to play in away games for the Nets. Harden, has been battling two injuries and has been poor in form.
The Nets have played 0 games with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Joe Harris — their 4 highest-paid players.
It’s hard to get a grip on who this team really is, and they have no business losing to the Kings with Kyrie and Harden on the floor.

The other members in the roster like Joe Harris and Patty Mills have shown glimpses of their talent, but the team has not been able to gain any sort of momentum. The team also have seen a veteran Blake Griffin being overplayed to get some stability in the team.
How do the Nets go from here?
Till Durant’s return, Harden and Irving shoulder the responsibility of lifting the team from their current slump. Irving, has won an NBA title with Cleveland Cavaliers, while Durant has won two rings with the Warriors.
The team can also improve their defensive resilience. Brooklyn Nets have struggled to close out games and it has seen them go to a 3-7 run in their last 10 games. Nash will have his work cut out during the last 30 games, as his team battle it out to win the NBA title this year.
The biggest problem is that when James Harden and Kyrie Irving are playing well the role players are not doing well. But last night vs Brooklyn Nets’ loss to the Sacramento Kings with the role players playing well James and Kyrie were not.
